OK, before I continue, I must admit… This game can be frustrating, but you know what ?… All you need is one good shot and the frustration is gone !… Golf can be hell or heaven within 10 minutes…

I truly enjoy my golf. It keeps me active and the best part of it, are the surroundings. Golf courses have a knack for presenting you with exquisite natural beauty. Sometime you get lucky and witness some wildlife and that’s truly gratifying …. until you loose your ball in the trees or the pond…

For us, the thing to remember is that we will not compete in the Masters or the US Open anytime soon… That’s not because we can’t do it, but mostly we don’t want the celebrity nonsense that comes with it… Don’t you agree ?… ;0))

A good game of golf  is essentially a good score by your own standard. When I play, we have a rule. The maximum number of strokes on any hole is par+3 (bogey 3). Above that, you must pick up your ball and your score is par+4. So the immediate challenge for me is to ensure that I do not have to pickup my ball on any hole. Still got some ways to go, but slowly getting there….

Not to get all involved in techniques and rocket science theory about the golf swing, I still want to share a few senior golfer tips with you…. Those have worked for me to a certain extent, maybe you can expand on this too !…

  1. Stance and posture. Critical to address the ball correctly to start with.
  2. Grip. Underestimated part of the game as far as precision hitting is concerned .
  3. Back and Down swing. Obviously this is the core of the whole purpose. Takes some practice but essentially, you need to swing the club on a plane that will bring it back exactly where you started from. I found that concentrating on that, helped me keep my head down and improved my hitting rate dramatically.

Remember, I am not trying to emulate Ben Hogan or Jordan Spieth here. I am only trying to complete a game without having to pick up my ball prematurely.

I am curious… what’s your input to all this ?…
